I'm actually glad some one posted this question. The population of Chicago proper has gone down over the past couple of census reports. I think that Houston (2,100,000) will over take Chicago in the next 20 years if both trnds continue.

I think it is about 3-4 million, more or less a couple of shootings near the South Side.
