I am a 55 year old male and want nothing more than to be a 55 year old woman. I really want breasts and want to be rid of my manhood. I know being a woman is more difficult, but it really is what I have always wanted. But is 55 too old to start the process?

It is never too old to do what you are meant to do! A lot of people thought I was too old to transition at 30. It was the best decision I ever made. I am mentally and physically happy. The only thing is that as your body gets older, the hormones will not have as great an effect as they would have on a younger body. Just make sure that it is really what you want. If it is, go for it girl!

You are not to old but you will not get the same sort of results that you would have had you started when you were in your late teens or early twenties. One of the surgeries you might want to consider along the way is Facial Feminization Surgery or FFS. I have provided a link below that has some very good photos. It will probably do more to help you to be able to pass on a day to day basis than will the final reassignment surgery will.

The only limiter is health really. There are people in their 50's that have transitioned. As long as you don't have any serious health risks I don't see why you couldn't transition at 55. Good luck!

No. I thought that I was too old to have a sex change myself but; I'm about to start my hormone therapy next week at the age of 41.

I think there are a lot of things to consider if that is the way you are thinking of going. It doesn't seem like age should be one of them.
you might live another 40 years. Why not make them happy years.

I dont think it matters how old you are as far as breast implants go... if thats what you want go for it.
