I mean, how do they know that it is true?

I think people believe in horoscopes because people tend to want to know what positive things are being said about them. I believe it's a confidence booster for a lot of people. People like to believe that they're destined for greatness be it in a small or great quantity. People tend to run low on confidence and self-esteem, so they turn to horoscopes to fulfill that. There is a great probability that the horoscope will positively say something to boost their confidence. We all have our beliefs and there are people that believe horoscopes to be a 100% true. Whether we agree or not.

People think that horoscopes are true because the ones that they read in newspapers are so general and can be applied rather easily across the board. I find horoscopes entertaining myself, and jokingly refer to them as "horriblescopes". Ancient peoples on up to Nancy Reagan took astrologers very seriously, probably because they found a tiny grain of truth to what was said. If you think about it, there might be a little bit of truth to it. After all, the Moon influences the tides, and humans are made up mostly of water. Therefore, the astrological bodies might be messing with us just a little bit.

It's the same as believing in angels, Santa Claus, Jesus or any other myth not based on facts/tangibility.

With horoscopes, they are so general that they seem true. You could read a horoscope for any sign and find some way to make it apply to what is happening you this week and you could deem it "real".

I don't know. That's a good question. Probably because sometimes the horoscopes seem to answer questions a people may have. Or because sometimes a horoscope matches up with what a person is going through.

Some people believe in horoscopes because they have a different religion, and horoscopes are a part of it. Rather them put them down by calling them names, perhaps we can give them the same courtesy we would give others of varying faiths.
In my experience, looking at horoscopes as helped me examine a situation from various perspectives and better empathize with why other people do things. It is a tool, just as prayer, rosary beads, and hymns are.

The people who believe in horoscope are ignorant because It is not possible that sooooooo many people of each sighn have the same tastes, destiny, personality, luck, intelligence, etc....... so horoscope is a piece of crap to fill out pages in magazines and newsparer, to make some money, and to find something to talk about on TV.

I love to read my horoscope it's not that I really believe in it at all it's more for fun with me. I do notice a lot of it turns out to be true and it's probabally just coincidence but it's fun to read especially when it's right on point.

I think that people who really believe in horoscopes just need something to believe in. Just like the rest of us, some believe in god, or some kind of higher power, those who don't believe in god, need something else to believe in. I have a friend that is like that. She believes in psychics and stuff like that. Well, if that's what she wants to believe, I have no problem with that. If that makes her happy, then good for her.

They dont Knoooow its true, but they want to believe its true. Usually people just look for something positive to keep them going, I suppose believing in something as foolish as horoscopes can fill certain voids in ones life.

People believe in horoscopes because they desire a certain amount of control in there life. The need to know what is going to happen to them in the future. Of course they can't. It is rather a desperate position to be in for them.
