yes. i have heard of that and have had healthy babies. the fluid in the amniotic sac does restore itself...if it's REALLY low it can signify a problem and stress the baby. talk with your doctor if you are worried about it (if it's your own your worried about). and they can let you know your options

When i was pregnant with my first child, at 7 months I had a fall and went into labour, they managed to stop me but i had to stay in hospital for a few weeks just to be on the safe side. They did lots of scans and my amniotic fluid was getting less and less, i dont have a clue where it was going because I never noticed anything. All it means is that you have to be careful because there is less protection around the baby. The amniotic fluid serves many perposes and so you will be watched carefully to see if anything is wrong, but if they say everything is fine, then, do trust them because they do know what they are talking about. speak to your midwife and get some info from her to ease your mind!

My son had low fluid when he was born. We don't know the exact cause but the drs thought it was because I was post dates.... He will be two next week and is just fine. :)
Low fluid can be from a number of causes. The most worrysome is that the baby can have a problem with their kidneys. Doesn't happen that often, but it is a potential problem. The other more common cause is mom not drinking enough fluids, or that there is a tiny pinsize hole in the amniotic sac that is causing a very slow leak that can be undetectible.

It really depends on why the amniotic fluid is low. If it is too low, the doctor can supplement the fluid w/ a saline solution. As long as the woman has good pre-natal care, the baby should be fine.

I had a bit of a scare when they told me my fluid was low at about 34 weeks, but my daughter was born perfectly healthy at 39 weeks. They just had me come in for ultrasounds every week at the end so we had lots of pictures for the baby book. There were no complications with the delivery at all.

yes I hear that happens, also have read it in my pregnancy book, that I got from my DR.
Most of the time it is detected, and I'm sure the DR. well inform the patient on what it means, and what the good and what will need to be looked after....and there are different out comes, but always focus on the good . Ask the DR or Nurse for more information on this, My Dr was perfect he and his Nurse really wanted you to call if you had any concerns or scared, so they can do what they can to ease your mind and help you.
