Basically it is because of two things. Drive and expectation.
Men have a stronger drive than women and as such they expect more.
There is an old saying:
"Women have sex to have a relationship and men have relstionships to have sex".
That about sums up why as the relationship goes on the fights begin. Women also need more to get in the mood than guys. To guys sex is a great stress reliever. For women stress gets in the way. Men also equate sex with ways to show love. Women prefer other avenues for the men to take to show that they love them.

Usually because one person in the relationship isnt doing something at all or often enough sexually. Therefore it creates tension and an argument breaks out.
