Will the future more be determined by people alive in 2007 or more by those who will be alive in 2057?

I'm looking for any year or range of years for the answer to this question - I'm not looking for answers that involve phrases like "in 50 years", but phrases which detail exact years and ranges in the future. I'm looking for a scale of what people think about whether the future will be more influenced by people alive today or by the next generation - I'm looking for numbers according to what people think, feel and believe - I would be more inclined to spend more time processing answers which are backed by the Scientific Method [for more info on: "Scientific Method" a yahoo search should yield a nice outined explanation of the procedures thereof] so (if you can) please try to include research links to back up your answers - thank you, so much, for the time you have taken to read so far; I have only one thing left to say: I do accept e-mail at this time, as long as in the subject line you include all the following from my key-word list : yahoo question 2007 2057 range future influence

Since you dont define what you mean by 'the future', all we can really say is this:

All the years UP TO 2057 will be determined by people born prior to 2057, but the years after that will be determined by people INCLUDING those born after 2057.
