I feel that a question is a resource to help guide you to an answer, so why is it that individuals are getting so uptight about other individuals asking homework questions on here???

Well I think it is perfectly alright to ask homework related questions here. Sometimes this is the only place you can go for quick help, and there are so many people here with a lot of knowledge and resources to help, so I think it is great to be asking homework questions. It could always help more than one person!
People should not be getting uptight about any question, simply they should just leave it alone if they are not happy with the question. ONLY if the question is very vulgar should anyone get upset, but a homework question, according to me is quite alright, and I think anyone who wants to help answer should, and anyone who is "against" it should just keep on moving.

I don't mind when people are confused about a question and are looking for help, or have been stuck on a problem.

What annoys me is when people just post all their questions here as if they didn't put any effort into it. That's an abuse of the category, I think, and the people asking the questions are doing themselves a disservice by not trying to learn.

Like anything, there is a line where it's good, and one where it's abuse.

Sometimes you get people who say things like 'I need an essay on this subject, I someone to write three pages for me by tomorrow morning.' That, I think, is cheating: they're not putting in any effort themselves, they're just trying to get someone else to do it all for them.

However, I'm fine with most other questions on here. If you're stuck, or you need help with a specific part of your homework, or you're looking for inspiration about what to write, then this site can give you the little bit of guidance you need. There's nothing wrong with needing help; there's lots wrong with not even _trying_ to do it yourself.

Is this an issue of people answering questions on here with the reply of "do your own homework"?
I just dished one of those out a few mins ago, I felt kind of bad. I don't send those out often.
Personally, I'm willing to answer any questions to the best of my ability. But, when it comes to somebody just pulling out a numbered worksheet, and then posting every single question on the worksheet on yahoo answers, it seems a bit lazy.
I'm always open to answer questions people just seem sort of stumped on, or want to check their work, and I've offered to tutor people and stuff, but I refuse to answer every question that the user pulled off of a worksheet.

I think its wrong to ask for the answer but its OK for people to ask for help getting the answers. After all if yahoo didn't want people to ask for homework help then why would they have a section for it?

I believe that its due to many people thinking that the student is trying to get an answer the easy way, without doing the research themselves. But I've always believed that 'If you don't know.....then ask'. I know that if I didn't know the answer, i'd definately ask for help. I say "Ask Away...and ignore the spitefull".

It is homework help and if other people don't like it, then they shouldn't be reading them. The only ones that get me are the ones like: I need information on _____________. Those obviously are, did you check google.com or yahoo.com first? LOL They are already on the internet asking, so why not just go there first?

I don't mind the questions as long as the person did try to do it theirself first. The person isn't going to ever learn it if they let everyone else give them the answers.

GENERAL questions are fine, but asking us to solve things like math equations serves no purpose.
