I was wondering if anyone out there has any idea on where I can seek information to become a counselor. Is any other options besides going to school? Please let me know if you have any info. Thanks a bunch.

Oh... This would be Marriage/Relationship Counseling that I am thinking of.

Regarding schooling. I don't mean not doing any schooling, but is there classes or something I can do without attending college outside my home. Cause I am a full-time parent.

well.. I am searching for the same information as well..
From what I have researched the only counseling you can offer is going to be voluntering w/ certain agencies. You may want to look into big brothers, or call a local Counselor, or perhaps in a parish, or church you can offer counseling to the fellow congregation, and see what they can recommend you do. But unfortunatly, noone is going to pay for advice with out some kind degree..

You need to get a Masters or PhD to engage in marriage and family counseling. You will also need to be licensed. Even though some people engage in counseling without any credentials you will be more credible with this background.

YES, you would need to go to at least some sort of school. Otherwise, what gives YOU the right to recommend to others what to do? You don't know any of that stuff--psychology, sociology, psychiatry, syndromes, you know nothing about how to do this; you may give good advice, but you need a license to be a professional.
