I know this is gonna sound weird, but I swear to you it is true. Just last week, I answered a knock at my door, upon answering I found 2 young men, probably 17-20 on my front porch. When I asked if I could help them, they asked if I'd be interested in buying ......... now get this MEAT!!! Yes, I said meat, like steaks, ribs, chicken etc..... I looked into the yard to see what company they could possibly be from, they were driving a little S-10 pickup truck with a chest freezer hooked up to a generator in the bed of the truck. It seemed so strange to me, I asked them if it was a joke, and he tried to get me to go look in the freezer to show me the steaks. Obviously I didn't go, I fear I may have ended up in the freezer myself. Would anyone actually feel safe buying meat this way??? True story I promise.

The beginning of last year. It was a vacuum. Even though we have central vac, My wife bought it.
I have two furniture appliance outlets. In the 1970s we had over 300 outside door to door salesmen. We now have none.
We had a meeting in 1976. We found the average income was over $50,000.00 Per year. This was during a time when $300. per week was good money.
Our average salesman was a European immigrant, quite a few had concentration camp tattoos.
This was a dying breed, today we have none.
I hope this information helps.
Both of my stores are in New Jersey

I get alot of sales people, because i live on a busy street... But not only do i get sales people, i get Jehovah's Witnesses, i just walk up to the door with a alcoholic beverage and offer it too them, and that fixes them! The last sales person I believe was selling licorice (candy) for a school....

Around two months ago I had a newspaper guy come and try to get me to subscribe for three months free with no further obligations, well when I went to sign the card he had said that I was responsible for 5.83 per week for the delivery. Needless to say I did not sign and sent him on his way.

about 2-3 months ago. effer wouldn't leave. I told him that I had to leave soon and he'd be like, oh just 5 more minutes, and 10 minutes later he was still there, I was not thrilled. I watched him as he got out of his car and he went around to the trunk and he proceeded to doused himself in cologne. When he came in, he reeked.
