IF you are lucky enuf to get a vendor's license, you can try to find a company who has a free cart to RENT to you for a LOT of money. I believe they do NOT earn their time's worth and it is not a good idea for a job. It's also a very HARD job. And, people will NOT like your crappy $1 for 10 hot dog and will NOT buy them. Brand names are used, or you're NOT patronized. You need to do a LOT of research. Depending on how old you are, why don't you just get an appropriate, conventional job? You'll save all the money you DON'T have. Do you think the vendors enjoy those jobs? They do NOT. Most of them are immigrants who cannot speak the local language and are trying to be employed. If you have the hundreds upon hundreds to get the license, the cart--IF there's one available, the rental $ to house the cart, which on your limited funds you won't be able to (most of these people share a cart, license, spot--because no one can afford these fees alone.) Don't kid yourself--they freeze in the winter, burn in the summer, and ALWAYS look unhappy. If they are miserable with it, why do you think YOU won't be. If you can get a traditional job, then do so.

Don't forget about the expence to cook the hotdog. Figure your margin (profit) is $1 per hotdog. How many could you sell.

I'm working on a project where you start out with nothing. See link in resource section.

Ebay is another way to get started on the cheap. But you have to do a good bit of research first. Otherwise you could end up loosing money fast.

Good Luck,

Michael
