The answer depends a lot on your personal goals and interests.

For example, do you have plans to go to college? Do you have plans to take college level science classes, including biology? If so, then DEFINITELY take this honors class. I was a chemistry major and took advanced (honors) chemistry in high school. While college level chemistry blew away what I learned in high school, having that extra chemistry proved highly beneficial.

If you believe you are college bound, but your interest in science is minimal, despite your current success, then I would focus more on classes that interest you. For example, if writing is your passion, focus on taking the advanced (AP or honors) English classes. If you love math, work your way towards calculus. If you adore art, then take as many art classes as possible. In other words, don't just take an honors biology class simply because you are doing well in regular biology.

The last point is who is teaching this class. If your current instructor will teach honors biology, and your interest is there, then please take it. It seems you are doing well in your his class and most likely will do well in his honor's class too. But if it's another instructor, be careful. Excelling with one teacher is no guarantee you'll be successful with another, especially if you are coming into the class with many doubts.

I hope this helps! And congratulations on your success in biology.

The AP or honors classes have a lot greater artwork in contact than regularly occurring classes, i'm a severe college senior this year and that i've got discovered you do no longer want to objective to cram greater effective than 2-3 AP/honors classes at one time, it gets genuine stressful. many times with AP classes I even have some million-2 hours of homework a evening, yet then you quite apart from mght might desire to (once you're in AP classes) learn for the AP attempt on appropriate of the homework you get. AP/honors classes could be stressful, yet once you're a hard worker and want to benefit, they're greater relaxing than your standard type. In some areas for AP/honors you apart from mght have summer artwork/projects in contact...i do no longer understand if it is so the place you reside. I advise only taking AP/honors classes in case you extremely like the area.

Honors classes look good on your transcript. Colleges like to see it. Of course, if you get a D, then it won't look so good.

Go ahead and take the challenge!
