you are going to use at least 6 a day x7 = at least 42/week. and you dont really know which brand is best until you use them. I have a 21 month old and she can only wear pampers because every other diaper irritates her. And my 4 month old can use any of the diapers, even the cheap grocery store brand and it causes no irritation to her at all. I heard luvs leak, even though the commercial says it doesnt. and both my girls soaked through huggies, so the best is trial and error! hope this helps :)

We use Huggies, they work well for us and we can buy them in mega-bulk at Costco.

You can expect to go through one diaper per feeding, plus a few extra a week for those times that you have JUST changed a diaper and then they poop. So in the beginning weeks about 8 per day X 7 days + 3=59/week. If you establish a good routine you can be down to about 6 feeding per day by about 6 weeks old, then you'll only go through about 45/week.

I'd recommend only buying 1 package of newborn diapers, because if you have an average sized baby they'll be ready for size one in about a week (and the hospital sends you home with a package of newborn size).

We've used Luvs, and we don't really like them because they don't have the stretchy sides, but we didn't have problems with them leaking. Pampers are as good as Huggies in my opinions, you just can't buy them in large bulk so you spend more.

Stockpile all the diaper coupons the companies send you and that helps with the cost, if you know a mom that uses a different brand you can set up an exchange with them to get even more coupons for the brand you decide to go with. Get on the companies mailing list at their websites. www.huggies.com www.pampers.com

it depends on your child. At first, keep a box full. I would say, try to keep around a dozen to twenty diapers on hand at all times. then, through the course of the first week or so you should notice a pattern. As for the brand, you will find the best through trial and error. I recommend you use pampers swaddlers when the baby is first born, because it has an imbilical cord cut out. Good luck and congratulations.

Expect to use about 10 a day. It might be good to start stocking up. Just don't buy too many "newborn" sizes. They grow out of those really fast. We have always had great luck with "store brand" (typically Wal Mart). Most companies want you to be happy. So if you have any problems with the diapers, let them know right away. Luvs has a money back guarantee...

well i havent had my baby yet...but i worked at a daycare and we changed the babies at least every 2 hours. if they had a poopy before then, we would obviously change it. so i would say about 12 diapers a day. at the daycare, the parents brought in the diapers. i saw all kinds of different ones. but honestly the ones that worked the best was the target brand and they are cheaper. my plan is to use all the different kinds though and test them out. good luck!

Pampers is the best. They even have a Pampers Swaddlers Newborn type that is the very best for newborns. They don't leak, and are good for sensitive skin. They have a cut out for the umbilical cord area too. Plan on using about 10 a day...that would be about 70 a week.

I prefer pampers because they fit my baby the best. When my daughter was a newborn we went through about 12-15 diapers per day. I changed her everytime I fed her because that is what the hospital recommended. Congrats and hope this helps.

When they are first born, you'll probably change them about every 2 hours or so. As they get older you might change them a little less often.

As for the best brand, that's a hard one. We use pampers, but that's what worked best for us. We tried several brands, but papers worked best for us based on how they fit our son with his thighs ect. I think it's a different fit for every child. Try pampers and Huggies, you can decide after you see what works best.

10-12 diapers a day...pampers swaddlers are awesome for newborns and they are good up until size 2 and then after that when they are crawling...pampers cruisers are the way to go!! My son who is almost 1 years old wear them and they are awesome for day and night..i personally do not like huggies...to me they are cheaply made and do not have that pretty baby smell...lol...luvs is also a good brand if you are looking to save money!!! Enjoy as they grow up soooo fast!!!

Lots! I believe I went through about two bags of newborn diapers a week. They don't sell those in very large quantities. We started using cloth to save some money and I really like it better.
