You need a serial to USB adapter.

I don't remember what a printer serial cable looks like so I won't link to a particular one but if you search NewEgg or any of the online retail sites for "serial to USB adapter" you should get a good selection. Make sure that the serial connector is the one you need to match your printer connector (number of pins and male vs. female).

Two ways I can think of. The first, and probably easiest, would be to get a converter from Serial (are you sure it's not parallel?) to whatever you have on your laptop.

The other option would be to install it on another PC, if you have one, and print from your laptop over the network. You would do this by sharing the printer on the machine it's connected to, and then simply accessing the shared printer via Network Places. Google "Printer Sharing" if you need more detail than that.

or you have to buy switch to connect to serial port
