Im not a HUGE fan of interleague play, but I wouldnt mind it being done away with.

I like the match ups when it is Chicago Vs Chicago...NY Vs NY...Oakland Vs SF...LA Dogers vs LAA Angels...Cleveland Vs Cincy...Texas Vs Houston...TB Vs FL..I like thoe whole interstate/same city rivalary match ups....and I think baseball should come up with a away to keep those kind of match ups.

But in the end, I think it ruins the World Seires and All-Star game a bit.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the idea of the winner of the ASG have home field advantage in the WS it is great, but it was better when the teams dont play each other, makes it more special, get to see players on the same field, and different rules for the first time in the year..

Same goes with WS, it was better when the NL and AL didnt play each other in the season, made the WS more exciting, cause you would never be able to see these two teams play eatch other.

I dont know...what you guys think...

I agree. I think MLB should cut down on the number of interleague games each year.

I like interleague play a lot. I don't think it damages the "purist" form of baseball. I'm a huge baseball fan and traditionalist just as much as the next guy, but some of the matchups are great for the sport. I love watching the Cardinals and Royals play 6 games against each other every year. It's like the 1985 World Series all over again. The same goes for Mets/Yankees as well as many others. I don't believe interleague play ruins the WS because then you only get to see one good interleague matchup the whole year.

I'd prefer if the AL and NL teams only face each other in the World Series, too. I won't say it ruins the WS, but it does take away a little from it.

As for the All-Star game, I like the WS home field advantage being determined from it. Prior to that, the All-Star game was a snooze-fest as the managers weren't playing to win, and instead trying to get all the players involved, some of whom were mere "token" players from lousy teams who had to send a warm body.

But Interleague play has been a HUGE hit with the fans - many of whom are less concerned with the "purist" form of baseball, and just being glad to be able to see some stars from the other league playing in their park, so I don't expect it to go anyplace soon.

I love interleague play. It gives fans a chance to see players and teams that the don't normally get to see play. I hate the fact that the all star game determines home field advantage for the World Series though. An exhibition game shouldn't help determine who wins the series.
The fact that NFC and AFC teams play each other doesn't detract from the Super Bowl.

I don't think it ruins the World Series or the All-Star Game at all. I am a fan of interleague play. I think it makes baseball more exciting.

I am not a fan of interleague play nor do I like the DH in the AL.
There's nothing I can do about it so I watch baseball and root for my team. I do like the same city team matchups. It's bragging rights in those cities or states.

I like interleague play. You get to see interesting matchups between two teams that you usually don;t get to see. Also, because there is a lot of rivalry games that you never see and there is a lot of hype for those two rivalry weekends.

One thing I don;t like about interleague play is that if you win games it only helps your team and doesn't effect anyone else in the league

I think they should make it a little shorter but i do like it. It gives fans the opportunity to see players for the other league and i believe its good for marketing. Whenever teams like New York or Boston go to a national league park that park gets high attendance because fans want to see these big stars.
