The myth of dreaming of the dead?

i keep having dreams of the dead, what does it mean?

I keep having dreams of my dead sister who was shot.Is it a vist?

Are these dead people you knew that were once living? Or are they rotten corpses? Or just "ghost-y"?

Are they asking you questions? Do they seem to want something?

It could mean there is something in your life that is "dead" in your life that needs to go, like a bad relationship or habit.

Or, you could be being called to be a helper of souls.

It really depends on the surrounding details, and I can't tell you more with out more info...

Any specific dead people or just random characters? I dream sometimes of dead friends and relatives, it just means that I miss them.

it could mean many different things
could mean that your deceased friends or relatives are just trying to communicate with you via your dreams, on the other side

if you don't know these people, it could mean that when you sleep, you are just "aware" of another dimension, which you now visit on a frequent, or no so frequent basic, depending.

and this one may scare some of you a bit.....but proves to be true to the dreamer in many instances.......if over a long period of many moons, your deceased relatives come to visit you, via your dreams, they may be coming to prepare you, for the welcome that you will be receiving one day, on the other side........how soon this will happen, depends upon many things including the frequency of the dreams and the deceased themselves
