This all depends on what it is that is causing the stress.
1) If possible remove her from it or remove it from her. Like a dog may scare her, take the dog away.
2) If it is not removable then you need to go with support encouragement and understanding.
If money is the issue have her work with a debt councilor.
3) Good stress is bad too, The stress of a wedding. A very happy time and yet very stressful again, support and understanding.
4) Physical caused stress, such as a chemical imbalance in the brain, see a neuropsychologist for treatment.

Just be with him or her trying to trigger a good conversation if this does not work...Leave to find a good setting where you can invite him or her...So that they ca relax...Also you can invite other friends you know they are joyful and always having fun so you can prepare a laughing atmosphere...: Friendship is the most important thing in the world..People who have friends may never experience stress or any other psychological problems

there's nothing more more comforting than your presence --- just be there for her and make her feel that you're there to listen and that she can lean on you.
