What exactly does creating a virus involve? Do you need special software for doing it? If not then what kind of program should you write?

Yeah...the main reason I want to know is that I'm trying to create an antivirus software coz many of my friends are trying to create actual viruses but I am trying to detect (and delete!)them....

Virus creation does not need any spl softwares. Just you can use any programming language to write it.
Consider you are writing a program for linked list in C. For this you have to reserve memory space to store the data items. The same program can be used to acquire more memory space with out any intension or purpose so that the system gets slow down. This is a kind of virus.

I'm so sure you're trying to write anti-virus software. A virus is just a program, you can program it in any language. A virus typically spreads itself through network connections or email. It's not easy stuff, and writing anti-virus software is even more difficult. You won't find the information on how to use exploits to write virii anywhere on the public internet, so it's a waste of time to look.

u learn how to wirte virus but dont use it on others while you learn you learn logic so you will develop an idea of developing anti virus that you distrubute somany will be thank full to you
