What are polymorphs in the context of their concentration in your urine?

I'm a scientist so naturally curious. I am 19 weeks pregant and was looking through my notes (which show no problems - so its just to fufill my curiosity). One of things measured on the urine test was concentration of polymorphs in the Urine.

I imagine it is to do with the bacteria present in your urine.
