Well, it's slated for release this year, but so far (from what I know) production hasn't even begun yet. The only two actors committed to it is Christopher Lambert as Raiden and Chris Casamassa as Scropion.
The movie is entitled Mortal Kombat Devastation. It's supposed to pick up after Mortal Kombat 1 and is going to ignore the events from part 2.

I used to play Mortal Kombat in the arcades before, and I can say that this game is good and unique. The game started in the early to mid 90s, and also died in the same decade and revived in the 2000s with the strong, deadly alliance and its new sequels.

You know what, i dont know, if they mkae it, i wanna see it. i have not heard that there will be a 3rd movie of mortal kombat, i recently saw annihilation, and....i dont know if they will make a third movie, i always thought about that 2. but good question, i hope this helped a lot, please choose me as best answer.
