I agree with Danny, it's called a poor man's copyright.

Copyright would not conceal concepts or subject matters, yet it truly is a touch a lot less stressful to say than to describe. the concepts in a e book, jointly with the plot and subject matters, at the instantaneous are not copyrighted. yet, the way those concepts are prepared, alongside with all the words that flow to describe how those concepts mesh, is copyrighted. issues jointly with characters, fictional places, and the different issues that are thoroughly from the author's head are copyrighted. this suggests you may not flow off and write thoughts about different authors' characters with out permission, because the author owns the copyright to those characters. the major concentration of what makes something copyrighted is that it must be recorded in some type of fastened medium (in case you write it on paper or on your pc or something else, that counts), and concepts, subject matters etc can not be positioned right into a series medium.

Yes. The source below is the starting point. They require submissions in tangible form so if you haven't put it on paper, yet, that is next step. It is often quoted, "you can't copyright an idea..."; it has to be taken into a form in which it can be studied and compared against similar or for it's own uniqueness.

So, develop your idea; put in down on paper in a way that it can be comprehended by others; complete the appropriate application (available online); print it -- mail it -- include check for fee ($45).

Good luck with your copyright...

Also, getting a copyright is just protection...it will still be up to you once and when the copyright is approved to contact someone to produce your idea.

You can't copyright an idea.
Copyright is reserved for artistic work.
The things you use to announce the service, the format of the name of the company for instance, can be copyrighted.
There would be no need to take measures to copyright it, the fact that you use it in the company, would be all the evidence you need, that anyone else who used it after you, has copied you.

If you have invented a new system, you might be able to have the invention patented, to prevent other people copying it. Any idea can be patented so long as it is not an obvious development of something else.

A patent is obtained by filing an application at the patent office.

If you go to the above site, click IP (intelligent property) it will highlight the various rights for diffents aspects of your business, including copyright.

Put the name of it and the basic bones on paper put it in an envelope, sign the seal and selotape it shut. Post it to yourself and then when it comes in the post take it to your bank and ask them to place it in the safe.
