Why won't my ps2 play the blue back discs anymore and can it be fixed?

You probalbly have an old PS2 and there is dust on the lens or the lens has dropped a bit. Are you seeing "Disc Read Error"?

If so you need to open up the PS2 - its actually pretty easy - use this site to help:

http://www.geocities.com/djyayo/faq2.html - when I had this problem I found a better site, which had photos (just search for "Disk Read Error + PS2" - I haven't time now to search one out for you).

Go to this site and try what they say, but DON'T BOTHER adjusting the cog/ wheel until you are sure you need to - mostly just cleaning the lens will work.
