My son wants to know what you guys think.

Sorry, I classified it wrongly.
I'm referring to the latest version of WoW computer game.

My son thinks it's a waste of time to go to the JC he is in now. Once his confirmed "O level " results are out, he intends to switch to another JC.

He thinks he'd be happier and better off enjoying himself in his favorite computer game now.

When his results are out, he would then concentrate seriously on his studies.

I told him to balance his time well.
He can play after school hours, but he prefers uninterrupted play. He wants to know what the YA community thinks.

What's your opinion ?

he'll figure out at some point that he can't spend all of his time on WoW, when the bills start piling up or his grades slip. It might take some financial repercussions to wake him up, hopefully not. Wow is a wicked game, more fun than almost anything, but allowing it to stunt your growth financially is pretty lame. In a few years, what he has done in school will matter, but what he did in WoW will be forgotten by all but him and maybe some server's memory.

If he is a true WoW addict he will totally understand the importance of studying his school work and getting his diploma. He will then get a better job to pay for his addiction. If it is the on-line game, then he needs to pay for the monthly subscription, DSL line, electricity. Not to mention the BC expansion and computer upgrades to keep the game and the mods running smoothly. Plus if he intends to or already has a guild, there is the cost of a good guild website, banners, Ventrilo. The cost can really add up over time. Yep he better study and pass with flying colors.

Well, I'd lay it out simply like this to your son:

* If you neglect your studies now

* You won't get into a good college,or maybe
any for that matter and

* No college education means

* You most likely won't get a decent job that
pays well.

* And having money just enough to exist
and pay the necessities in life

* Means you won't have the $$$ to buy and
play your computer games!

Hopefully, your son will see this issue coming back full circle to the fact he has to put his studies first!!

Enough said!!

Since you put this under Board Games I'm assuming you're talking about the board game WoW rather then the computer game. In this case, the answer is no. The board game takes too long and costs too much.
