The SIM reference is called the IMSI (International mobile subscriber identity) It is 15 digits long and is on the SIM card (although they often add more digits to that) It identifies your account to the network.
IMEI is the handset's ID - International Mobile Equipment Identity.
It is also 15 digits long and is printed on the phone or can be displayed if you type *#06# [SEND]

sim reference is the num on the sim card....the small card in the back of the phone....and the imei is a number under the batter on the phone usually starting with a 3 or 8
