I want to go to Tokyo on holiday, for a novelty experience I want to try staying in the famous capsule hotel. However I'm very tall - 6'5" - would I be too tall to stay in one of the capsules?? What's the cut-off point?

I'm 6'1" and I fit in pretty well, I'm sure there were at least a couple inches to spare.
Many capsules have a pretty flimsy curtain, or rolling screen at the entry, where your feet will be, if necessary you could dangle your feet out the end a bit, but you'll probably fit.

2 meters is 6 feet 6.7 inches

You might also be able to manage by lying at a diagonal, but the things are usually 2m x 1m x 1m, so the diagonal is 2.23 meters.
Still, you want to go for the novelty, so give it a shot anyway!

If it doesn't work out, you can go for the latest trend, spending the night in an Internet cafe. They're all over, many places have special all-night deals for about 1000-2000 yen with a private computer booth (but some are not so large), nice reclining chair, showers on-site, coin lockers for your stuff, a library of manga and magazines, DVDs, PS2 and games, and free drinks. And one better, no stinky old men reeking of sake and puke.

Whow you're tall...
I think it depends on which capsule hotel you go too but I think generally speaking they're about 2M in length. Or so Wiki says...

So you're maybe just a bit too tall for it unless of course you curl up or bend your knees. Then you'd fit.
I doubt it's comfortable though.
2M is just about 6.5 Feet I think.....
But hey, it's only for one night and it only costs like 3000yen so I say go for it. If it doesn't work for you then you can always sit in one of the massage / recliner chairs and snooze there.
