I was made bankrupt for a silly amount in February 2005 and discharged in February 2006.

I now need to get hold of £6000 (unsecured) for home improvements (repair central heating, repair roof and rotting window frames ETC)
Is there a lender out there who will help me?

There is always a lender, but the interest rates.........
Some good people specialise in higher risk clients, others can be pretty ruthless. Do look at the total payable under any agreement before you go ahead. You would save a small fortune doing the work a bit at a time.

Why 'unsecured' ?

If you intend to use it for Home Improvements, I would expect no trouble extending your existing Mortgage.

No there isn't. No one in their right minds will lend you money until you show yourself to be more responsible. Buy a bucket to help the leaking roof
