Well, it happened to me this year when Shevchenko left Milan, he was my fav player along with Kaka'. It was very hard and I've not forgotten that time, I felt terrible. In fact I can't tell you what to do.
What I did was to delete all his photos in my pc and threw his posters and hate him (maybe hate is a strong word better say dislike him) First of all I support my team, then the players, I couldn't like him anymore, he left my club where he cloud be the captain, where fans adored him. But there are many people that still support their fav player in that other team too and I don't know what is the right thing to do.
Anyway if you're talking abt Buffon I don't think he is going anywhere since I heard in an interview today he wants to stay with Juve

there are a number of things you can do...
1) First and foremost, you could just suck it up. If that fails, you could...
2) Root for you favorite player but not their team...
3) Pick a new favorite player...or...
4) Make yourself like the team that your favorite player has transferred to.
And I can't think of anymore. But it is up to you...Just because your favorite player goes to a team you don't like, it doesn't mean you have to like or support that team :)

If you still like that player, you might as well support the team at least a bit... That kinda happened to me, except I kinda did like Chelsea in the first place!

support your favourite team, but support the player as well (don't support his team though)

i would go to him an DRAG him back to the team!!! :))
or just support him as a player but not the team itself he moved to...and remain supporting your favorite team and wish he comes back :))

That already happened to me in F1.Kimi is going to Ferrari :(.And is support Mclaren and i'm still going to suppoert 1st Mclaren and then Raikkonen even i hate Ferrari cause of ex driver M.Schumacher!
