on my atv my thing broke that i need to tighten my chain what is this peice called?

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. Different manufacturers sometimes use different names for the same part.
Some quads use chain adjusters. Some have the rear bearing carrier in the swing arm and have no "adjusters".
