I agree w/a uniform policy. Why? It keeps kids from feeling so different. There is a school close to where I live and they had the cops there every day because kids were fighting about shoes, clothes and the like. During gym classes, stuff was getting stolen. So they implemented a uniform policy-tan pants, light blue shirts, no jewelry and brown or black shoes sold by the school so there would be no expensive shoes to be stolen. It seemed to work. No calls to the law so far this year.

With all the emphasis the media is putting on looks, status, etc., and with the fact more girls are dressing like pole dancers and boys major grunge, I think a uniform is the best answer. Like another answerer put, it levels the playing field. It takes away at least a few of the stresses of high school. When people state this takes away their individuality, my response is always "You have all the hours out of school to dress in a way that expresses who you want to be."

I agree with uniforms. It levels out the playing field somewhat for students. If everyone is wearing the same thing, then theoretically the students can focus more on their studies.

Hell no! that would do away with the popular clique whose social status depends on trendy/revealing clothes.
