No she shouldn't go to jail, it was an accident and the experience was probably traumatic for her and she probably feels terrible, I think that should be enough.

Whether she should get jail time or not is not for me or anyone else other than the courts to decide. I was not there and nor do I know the full circumstances of the accident. But I do know that while everyone is focusing on Brandy and whether or not she should get jail time, a fairly young mother is dead, leaving young children behind to morn her death. Brandy's fate is not going to change that fact. Maybe what everyone should concentrate on is those poor, motherless children. Yes, if Brandy was at fault, and from what I am hearing she was, then she should get her just due. But I have known and heard of similar cases where the person may have gotten probation and fined without doing jail time. Once again, regardless it's not going to bring that woman back nor is it going to make those kids pain less bearable.

It isn't a matter of if she should or not, it's if she will or not. As a celebrity, she may get charged, may even be found guilty. However, I am sure she won't get any jail time, since the maximum sentence is one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. She'll be fined, get a mark on her license and that's about all. Truth is, she was speeding (allegedly) and she hit another car that hit another car. It doesn't even state that she got a ticket for speeding, nor rear ending the first car. Personally, I think this is a case of the late woman's family looking for "pain and suffering" money from someone who has it to give. If Brandy, and her lawyers, are smart, they will settle out of court, give the dead woman's family some $$$ and drop it.

My Best Friends Brother was killed in a car accident when we were in the 11th Grade. His brother was in the car with 3 of his friends. They hit a telephone pole and his brother was the only of the 4 killed. A car full of best friends and the driver got 8 years for vehicular manslaughter. Should he have gone to jail? The guilt of being behind the wheel when your best friend passed away should've been enough. If you're negligent behind the wheel then YES off to jail you go. If it's an ACCIDENT...then it's just that. However, Brandy shouldn't get any special treatment. If my people get 8 years....Dab Nabbit....8 it is. Keep it Even!

Treat her as you would anyone else! Let the judicial system decide, however ... Money is definitely the divider in a lot of these cases. My friend's younger brother got into an accident and killed a woman because he ran a red light. He didn't do any jail time because his parents were loaded and ended up paying millions to keep him from going to jail. The family was devastated that he didn't go to jail but accepted the money and became millionaires. So maybe she'll get just as lucky and the judge will rule her out and just let her pay her way out.

I think Brandy's case is one where her celebrity status came back to haunt her. I see a lot of people posting how she should be treated like anyone else would be treated. The fact is, if she was "anyone else" this wouldn't be a story. The accident, and resulting death, occured OVER A YEAR AGO. Why would she have to publicly apologize now? Why would the state attorney be "looking into" the case a year later?

My issue is not with penalizing someone for taking the life, however accidentally, of someone else, but with the fact that this issue should have been resolved at the time of the accident. It happened, and Brandy and all those involved moved on. Now media outlets have gotten word of it, NOW it becomes a major story.

In regards to your direct question, YES she is guilty, she admitted as much. But should she get jail time? No, I don't believe so. If the family of the victim wanted her to do jail time, they would have requested it. The media is calling for all this. Let the family grieve and move on.

This is bullshit. The freeways in california are crazy and anyone that has driven through there now it is. We dont know if some had to abruptly stop, or the lady that died wasnt wearing her seatbelt. Perhaps Brandy was tailgating which means it was her fault. Or maybe the huge brick they call Land Rover has an unsafe stopping distance.

In the end, if she wasnt doing anything illegal (DUI, speeding, etc.) and wasnt distracted (cell phone, make up, ********), then it was an accident.

I've seen people, especially new drivers, stop abruptly, or slow to a crawl when changing lanes. If everyone was doing 65 mph, then why did the front driver stop? She either had to be really distracted to not notice the traffic jam, or the front driver and Brandy made a mistake and the front driver took it.

Brandy Norwood:aka"Brandy" was found to be at fault for the Dec 30, accident, for failure to prevent her SUV from rear-ending,Mrs. Aboudihaj car, sending her car into another car which then careened into the freeway's center divider and was broad-sided by a fourth vehicle, killing the 38 year old mother. Blame lie's where the accident started from not where it ended. Anyway the wrongful death law-suit will bankrupt her!

No she should not have to go to jail. You yourself just said this was accidental. Let the law take care of it. I don't even have enough data ot go on in order to make a decision and I am as removed from the situation as anyone could be. So far to me it is only the media and quite only a trifle at that. It is a sad situation I admit, however there is no evidence yet so I recommend that we wait and see.

Although it was an accident, she has to be held responsible for her actions. The best way to handle a case like this is to basically treat her like a regular person and show no favoritism since she is a celebrity. Look at the situation, due to talking on the cell phone and careless driving it caused in innocent person to lose her life!

She should be punished somehow and served in the hall of justices just like anyone else. I am shocked we didn't find out until now. She must have very good publicists or managers to keep this quiet for so long. This goes back to my argument that too many women drive vehicles that are too big for them. Perhaps it was an accident, but she hasn't had anything happened until now? That would not happen to any of us.
