To stop smack heads jacking up. It makes it hard to see the veins.

To stop intravenous drug users scoring in them making them a dangerous and vile place for any of the members of the public to go. Its very hard to find a vein in that blue light so it puts them off using drugs in them, there fore less used needles about and drug hot spots around loos.

Hello! the reason they have blue fluorsent light's is to stop junkies using them to shoot up in, the blue light stop's you finding a vein. Most hostels have the same system.

Its because in uv lighting the veins disappear, therefore it stops the loos becoming a hangout for drug users.

Yes there is. The reason is so that if you look at the floor whilst on the loo it hypnotises you so the toilet can gobble you up and flush you to toilet hell where everything is cleaned and the floors aren't blue and floresent but pink and lime green tiles. dum dum dummmmm!!!! So know you know. Watch out next time you enter the... Public Toilets....

In most public lavs you are lucky if there are any lights! Most of them are smahed up by the local yobbos / covered in dried toilet paper that has been wetted and thrown up there!!

unfortunatly i know the answer to this but its not very nice- a friend of mine manages a night club and they had them fitted a few months ago- its so that people who want to inject drugs can't see the veins in their arm

They are scientifically developed so they are on the same light colour spectrum as a human vien. Therefore, they make it very difficult for drug users to see thier viens, and can't inject and substances into their viens.

yes it is to stop herion addicts injecting in the toilets the blue light makes it hard to see the vein

Blue fluorescent lights to make you feel uncomfortable so you won't be staying longer than needed.

Dim light to keep down the electricity bills.
