Right now she is wearing 6-9months and they fit ok. I am just looking for opinions because my friend says she should be wearing 18 months because thats what she had her daughter in when she was that size. I just feel that 18 months is way too big.

My daughter is 5months old and the doctors say that her size is fine because she is big in height and weight equally. So she isn't over weight just a big baby. (her dad is 6ft5in)

I'd buy 12 months! They could be a tad big, but she could wear them longer!!!! 6 to 9 months may would be too small!!!!

How old is your baby? she sounds like she is about the same size as my 14 month old... i would get 12-18 month clothing ... at least 12 month will fit her very well right now especially jeans in 12 month will fit great my daughter wears up to 18 month just fine... depending on the brand of clothes you get some are a little big and some fit just fine! Hope this helps!!

I have a 16 month old boy. His legs are shorter than his torso, so we have a hard time buying outfits for him.. He wears a 18-24 month shirt and a 12 month pant. try buying the clothes a little big. You can always roll up the sleeves and pant legs, but that way she can wear the clothes longer.

go with What you feel is right. my daughter is about the same
some clothes she wears is 6-9 some are 9-12 and some are 18 months it depends really who makes them to what size she wears.
so just go with what you feel every baby is different
you are her mother and you know whats best for her

Okay my daughter is a year old and is the same size as your daughter. I dress her in 12-18 month clothes. Just because someone else says their child wears this size clothes at this time does not mean you have to. Dress your child in whatever is comfortable fr them.

No two clothing companies make their clothes the same size as the next. Carters may be one length and width and Gerber may be a totally different cut and length, even if it says the size is supposed to be the same. Buy whatever fits your baby. 12month clothes from one company may be 18 month clothes from another company.

Could be that your friend put her baby in clothes that were too big. Or that your baby has a different build than her baby. Listen to yourself. You know more than you think you do.

At 3, my daughter is very tall and thin. She wears a size 3 in length, but a 2 in width. We need a taylor.

You can't always go by what other babies are wearing or doing or anything. Every baby is different and have different body types. As long your little one is comfortable in her clothes and you like the way they fit, then don't worry about what your friend said. Goodness, but we mommies are always answering to someone!

if shes not uncomfortable. and they dont look or feel to small i would say your best bet is keeping her in the clothes yo uhave for her now.
or you could by some 18 month clothes and put them on her and see how they fit. sinceshe will eventually have to wear them it wont be a waste of money ;)
