I'm sure it would be as long as you looked at the cost effectiveness. IF you already owned the xylophone and the hat, then you can get started. Just remember that if you purchase them now, you can claim the purchase of these items on your taxes, because it is a work related expense. If you have a clown costume and bright red nose, you can also claim the dry cleaning of said items when people throw cherry slushies out the window at you.
Good luck

If you were brave enough to stand on a street corner playing a xylophone, a XYLOPHONE for gods sake, I'd give you whatever I had in my wallet and pray that no one beat you up.

When I lived in Germany there was this guy who would stand up in the middle of the pedestrian square and play his bagpips...in a kilt no less...this guy always had money in the box he kept at his feet...so I'm thinking you might want to go with the weird hat AND a kilt...now THAT would be worth giving money for!

If you live in an area like Venice beach you would be considered normal so if you do then go for it. If you live someplace like rural America I would think it over a bit. I can't see farmers, church ladies or the store merchants tipping much. Let us know how this works out for ya.

Na, I think that would be lame. Play some Kirk Hammett guitar solo's on an electric guitar outside of a store and ill give you some fat cash.
