I'm from Indonesia and I'm thinking about going to community college in US, then transfer to good UCs, I have two option, the first option is Green River CC in Seattle, and the other is De Anza in sf, ca.
I heard slightly that UC accePts more transfer students from CC in CALIFORNIA.
which one do you think it is better?
and does De Anza have good transfer rate to uc?
Thank you

I know someone who went to DeAnza. However, it's in Cupertino, not SF. Since you're from Indonesia, I guess that whole area looks the same to you, but it's decently far.

If you want to go to a UC, I'd go to DeAnza. UC's give preference to California residents. By going to DeAnza instead of the Seattle one, you may be able to establish California residency. Tuition will be cheaper. Otherwise, if the UC's consider you an int'l student, it's hard because they don't have too many spaces for those.

The other advantage of DeAnza over Green River is, being in CA, DeAnza and the counselors will be very good at figuring out what credits and steps you should take to transfer into a UC since they're both in the same state (and are both state school systems).

because your transferring from out of state/country, they are both going to be expensive. Its generally easier to transfer from CC to UC, but it really depends on what credits you have now that will transfer over into the school system. De Anza is a pretty good school, i know alot of people that went there, and it will end up being cheaper if you still need to get credits to go there first then to a UC. Good luck
