Every person's body is different... and as one person noted - the most important thing is that you should be consulting with your doctor. You are most likely going to see them every week or two at this point and so they'll check for other signs as well. But make sure you call to tell them that you feel that you have dropped. My first daughter was born early at 35 weeks - so the myth that first children are late is just that a myth. Each birth is different.
As a mother of two premature children, I can tell you that you just never know- be prepared and tell your doctor if there are any other signs and they'll give you the best advice! They have many ways to tell the size of your child and will monitor both your health and the babies and guide you through the birth whether early or not.
Good Luck!

Well first off, your 32 weeks along so you probably already know people will give you advice, and compare you to other women who are pregnant, which you should have come to the conclusion that not everyone is the same.
Dropping, or lightening, usually happens about 2-4 weeks before delivery. It's so good that you felt it, some women actaully don't, but it's good you felt it enough to know what it is. You could go in 2 weeks, you could go in 4, you can even go later than that. It's just a sign that your body is getting ready. Believe it or not your body chargers up for the big day weeks ahead of time for preperation, so don't be surprised if you come later or maybe sooner. You should be going to your doctor every week or two weeks at this point, it never seems to be the same so either way you've got a doctor visit coming up soon. They'll check to see how your progressing, and will tell you when they think you may delivery. Again..even if they say it can be a few weeks, you can always go early, or later. HOnestly when baby wants out, they want out, no matter what doc says the date is. I went nearly 3 weeks early with my first son, 2 weeks earlywith my daughter and I pray I go early with my second daughter in April.
Your esitimated due date is just what it says, Estimated, so your at 32 weeks and have a few more to go. At 37 weeks they say on average women can go 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after that week. But again no one can be perfectly accurate.
Keep listening to your body for other signs, the closer you get the more you'll notice will be changing and you'd probably be able to feel your instincts tell you it's time. That'd be increased discharge, more lower back pains, more longer painful braxton kicks, maybe even a loss of appiteite, getting tired alot more, or maybe a burst of energy to get ready for baby. The more you listen to your body the better you'll be at figuring out when your getting close.
Good luck! Congrats!

First of all, even if you were to deliver in two weeks, more than likely the baby would be just a little small, but otherwise healthy. I had my now toddler at 30 weeks, after a very complicated pregnancy and you would never know it now. They even told me that when he was delivered that he would not make any noise, but when he came out there was the slightest sound almost like a newborn kitten, that was him! I am telling you this, so that you can relax and just save your strength for whenever it does happen. Good Luck!

My daughter dropped at 33-34 weeks and I had her at 35 1/2 weeks so not every first time prgnancy will go late. My mom, sister and I were all 4-5 weeks early with our first babies.
Every birth is different. No nurse or doctor can tell you for sure when this baby will be here. All you can do is go by what you feel.
Good luck and Congratulations! :)
P.S.-- Get all the sleep you can before this baby comes! LOL

With my first pregnancy my daughter never dropped and I had to be induced. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and baby dropped about a week ago. The only difference that I have been able to tell is more pressure in my pelvic region. But only time will tell. Good Luck!!

you wont know for sure until it happens. Every woman is different and so is every pregnancy. You being only 32 weeks i doubt you would deliver unless there are major problems. Your aunt might want to recheck her stats or go back to nursing school because there is no dead set time after baby drops to go into labor. sorry. if you dont believe me ask your doc he'll tell you the same thing

you won't deliver in 2 weeks. some women walk around for weeks with the baby dropped. there was a lady on here yesterday who's baby dropped at 28 weeks and had the baby at 38 weeks.

believe that your baby is entering the birth position and you will only deliver when that baby is ready. Whether you are two weeks late or two weeks early all depends on when that baby is ready. Due dates are a best calculated guess and should never be etched in stone. So pack a bag..get ready and let us all know when the little one makes an appearance. Best of luck!!

I didn't drop at all with my first, and I dropped at 37 weeks with this one, my second (I know totally backwards to textbook) I'm now 38w 5d pregnant and I tell ya, I don't feel any more closer to going into labor then I did before I dropped... just a little more uncomfortable. I wouldn't fret too much I've heard of woman sitting at 3cm dialated 0 station 90% effaced for weeks then having to be induced LOL sucks to be them i'm sure, but it's possible. Have you been put on bed rest or pelvic rest? If you haven't been then they aren't too worried about it.

No, it doesn't mean you will deliver soon. My baby dropped really early because my cervix is short. She has been low the whole time and by 30 weeks her head was engaged and ready to go! I am now 35+ weeks and still pregnant....
