Everybody should be able to take care of themselves. It seems like relationships sometimes happen because "this person can do that job for me because I'm the wrong sex to do it".
That's crap. It's chauvinistic. And it's pigeonholing. I've treated my kids the same. One's a boy and ones a girl. They both clean, do laundry, cook, hunt, fish, repair cars...basically as self-sufficient as I could teach them (their mother wasn't around).
People shouldn't be in a relationship to find a "helper", they should be in it to find companionship.

Th is 2007!!! In this day and age when both the man and the woman works, all chores should be split down the middle.
Yeah in the old days, men did take care of all the finances, the women stayed at home, cooked, dusted, had children, washed, etc but times were different then.
If you have a man now who can take care of all the finances and you can stay at home and be the traditional housewife, more power to you. Nowadays you have stay at home Dads and working Moms. Things are not the way they used to be.

In the world we live in today, other than bearing children, I don't think there is. Modern medicine has even made it possible that a woman doesn't even need a man to become pregnant. It's actually the females that are doing jobs that were once a man's domain only while the males are moving into the females traditional roles, showing society that gender has no specific role. The one field (occupation) I personally feel should be left to a male role is the presidency of the USA. Again, I express, I personally feel this way for woman are too emotional, it is one of natures little quirks in life

Honey WAKE UP! I don't know if you have checked your calendar lately, but it is 2007. Men and women can do everything. Men can cook, take care of their babies, wash dishes, fix the car, the sink, and still be very manly. Women can make all or most of the money, take out the garbage, shovel snow, cut the grass, and still be mommy and lover. Come on! You aren't truly believing that men should be the bread winners and women should stay home and play house, are you? I take care of my man financially. He cooks me wonderful meals when I get home from work. And believe me...He isn't any less of a man!

I think that the man should protect his girl and always make her feel safe. I think men and women should and can share most of the household stuff but when it comes to things like chopping wood or heavy things....that's the mans job. Decorating is what I leave up to her. I guess I am a bit old fashioned in one way.....I think men should treat their women with respect and open doors for them, etc. And the woman should support her man and be his strength.l

No, me and my boyfriend do everything equally. It's not just a mans job to take out trash or financially take care of my family. I believe in 50/50 and there is nothing wrong with that.

There is no such thing as things man should and women shouldn't. I believe you should do what you feel is right for you. if someone thinks that what you did is not appropriate then, maybe this on not the right person for you. we are all equal.
I think it depends on the culture that you grow in, there are certain roles in certain cultures, however in our modern society there is not such thing, or I hope that is the case :)

The only thing I can think of is men should do the heavy lifting. Everything else can be shared by both.
