I don't believe my good deeds will be repaid before I die because if it is 'repaid', it is no longer a 'good deed' but it's like a transaction: some kind of barter trade- a good deed exchanged for another.

When I do a good deed, I do not expect anything in return.
However, I've seen it happen to people I know that somehow, when they are kind to others, others ( not the same people) come to their help when they are in need.

It's called the "law of reaping what you sow."

I don't do good deeds to have them returned to me. I do them because I'm a nice person with a warm heart and that's because God is in me. It makes me feel good to help those who I can help wether it's in person are here online. Wether it's physical or the advices I give. I do good deeds because I want to and I don't expect anyone to return them. God will reward those who do good deeds but that is not why I do them. I was raised up as who I am and my parents have taught me a lot about good deeds and doing stuff for other people and not expecting them to return them. I don't think anyone should do good deeds if they expect for them to be returned that's not the way to do it.

First thing first. Who decides what are good deeds and what, bad? You? Society? God?

If you live by your conscience certainly it will stand in your credit and it may not , necesarily be repaid in this birth. Some doget it and amny donot . But this does not go waste at all.

I believe that that if I live a good human being I will earn a better after life . As much as you cannot prove this i , too, cannot prove this.

I'm sure I'll be punished somehow for doing good deeds, but I'm not sure that it will be just in this life. Some things need too much time to build up momentum to fit into only one lifetime.

Nietzsche, in his famous book, Beyond Good and Evil, suggested that a question like yours, illustrates the shortcomings of Judeo-Christian theology and morality. That is, many believe that good deeds are a quid pro quo (this for that) so they act good to earn their way into heaven (or a joyous afterlife - however you define that).

Nietzsche advocated moving beyond good and evil, to a morality based on goodness for goodness sake (no, he was not related to Santa). Therefore, goodness, is its own reward because acting good helps to create a good life.

No, I don't....what use is it to do what you consider a good deed if the only reason you do it is to have it repaid?

The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.

The Bible says to not build up treasures here on earth.
But to build up treasures in heaven. The act of being kind or doing Good deeds, would be the act of building up treasures in heaven, so that you can reep your reward of being able to
have your soul be with the Lords for all eternity.

What difference should it make? If you are so self-centered that you want to be repayed for your good deeds, maybe they aren't as good as you think they are.

I know for a fact that wht you deal out to others will come back to you. So it is best to do good deeds and hope for the best, not just for yourself, but for everyone.
