I had problems with firefox it kept getting errors and having to close so I uninstalled it. I thought that would make internet explorer my default web browser.

But now when I try to open mail through messenger or click on links nothing happens...I have to open internet explorer by myself and type in the links i want to see or whatever.

How can i make it like it was ?

Cheers.

Start > All Programs > Set default programs. It is usually on top of all the programs.

On Internet Explorer toolbar, click Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab > where it says Default web browser, click Make default and check the box where it says Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser > click Apply and OK.

To reset Internet Explorer settings

If you installed another Web browser after installing Internet Explorer and Internet Tools, some of your Internet Explorer settings may have changed. You can reset your Internet Explorer settings to their original defaults, including your home page and search pages, and choice of default browser, without changing your other browser's settings.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Programs tab.
Click the Reset Web Settings button.

Open Internet Explorer, In the Internt Explorer menu bar choose Tools , Options, and a dialog box should appear - in the Programs Tab at the bottom their should be a tick box for 'Internet Explorer should check to see whether its the default browser'. Tick this box anc click on Ok. Close Internet Explorer - and reopen.

When it opens you should get a prompt saying IE isnt your default browser do you want this browser to be default - click on Yes/Ok and this will set IE as your default browser and set it back to IE.

If you leave the option for IE to check it is the default browser then if firefox or any other browser makes itself the default browser, it will prompt you whether you want to set it back to Internet Explorer, when you open IE.

A default browser could have much less placing out and loading time. IE could be stable for that cuz it would not use a lot reminiscence. Firefox is in spite of the undeniable fact that optimal decision because of protection reason like phishing on internet now a days, yet Firefox takes loads of reminiscence. i in my view p.c. Firefox as I even have 3 Gb RAM ;)
