Why don't you ask Mark Foley, Duke Cunningham, Ken Lay, Ted Haggard, or maybe Mary cheney and Jenna Bush?
"He who is without sin among you, let him be the irst to cast a stone" (That's from the Bible--a book the"moral values" types should try actually reading smetime)

I wouldn't put it in those words. I think you are probably a radical thinker and therefore cannot be reasoned with. The last several Congresses, especially the last one, accomplished nothing, zip, zilch, nada. The rubber stamp of a failed regime they did not move this country forward but backward. The new Congress is starting to clean up the mess. Once they get things in order we will see whether they can be any more progressive and move this country forward. If they cannot we need to see why and if it is because they are not doing what the MAJORITY of Americans want then we'll throw those bums out just like we did the ones in 2006. They have to learn they answer to us not to any Administration or lobbyist. I suggest you wait and see before you get on another tirade. By the way was Republican Congressman Foley moral. Just thought I'd ask since you obviously cherry pick what you want and make general statements of which you know nothing. But while you still have your First Amendment right to free speech (Bush hasn't taken that away, yet) you are welcome to say what you want. Difference of opinion is what makes democracy thrive.

It comes down to a matter of opinion. Having different opinions or standards is not wrong, forcing others to share your view point is. It is wrong for someone with a lighter, or loser moral code to force it on someone with a more strict code, but it is just as wrong for someone with a tighter stricter code to force it on someone who does not share their views.
Why is it that people need to put labels on others such as "liberal" and then assume that anyone who fits that political grouping shares the exact same ideas?
Why say that liberals are with out morals just because their standards are different?
Curious though what do you have against pleasure?
And why would you want to decrease pleasure and increase pain? Surely you are not claiming that non liberals are masochists? I ask this since masochists prefer pain. Hedonisists prefer pleasure.
Hedonism (Greek: hēdonē (ᾑδονή from Ancient Greek) "pleasure" + –ism) is a philosophy that focuses on increasing pleasure.
The first basic idea behind hedonistic thought is that all actions can be measured on the basis of how much pleasure and how little pain they produce. In very simple terms, a hedonist strives to maximize this 'ratio' (pleasure over pain). The nineteenth-century British philosophers John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham established the fundamental principles of hedonism through their ethical theory of Utilitarianism. Utilitarian value stands as a precursor to hedonistic values in that all action should be directed toward achieving the greatest amount of happiness for the greatest number of people.

They are working toward government control and by continually broadcasting their anti-American agenda , the more popular their point of view becomes and like sheep to the slaughter, some voters begin to believe the government being in control of our everyday life's is a good thing... What they try to debunk is the fact that our enemies applaud their actions because it strengthens their cause.. But do any of these voters ever wonder why the terrorist back the Democrats .....interesting

Maybe it's your perspective. If you adhere to a restrictive, repressive system filled with moral absolutes handed down by people who lived thousands of years ago in another, completely different world, then freedom may seem hedonistic and amoral to you.
How does being open and educated about sex hurt the country? How does affording all citizens equal rights and protections under the law hurt the country?
When people assert that republicans are more moral than other parties, it really make s me chuckle. It also reminds me of an old saying, "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."

You mean the liberal agenda that gave us the end of slavery, allowed women to vote, created Social Security and unemployment insurance, liberated Europe, Civil Rights, and gave women the right to control their own bodies? That "moraless and hedonistic agenda?"
Because conservatives fought each and every one of those items, and continue to fight them to this day. You must be so proud.

hedonism is based upon pleasure.
morals are based upon deprivation and suffering
So maybe liberals want to enjoy life? Is that so bad? Life is short.
They do not really try to defeat the country, but instead are trying to keep it worth saving. Who wants to live in an evil country with no pleasure in life but obedience and punishment. We must fight the enemy without becoming like him to do it. Otherwise it is a pyrric victory

Wow Dude, that's deep! As a Liberal I acknowledge, and respect you for voicing what I consider a narrow minded view of MY politic views. I believe in America, just like our fore fathers. I served in Uncle Sam's Army, I pay my taxes, I believe every person in this great country deserves to be given the respect to have a difference of opinion...

Yes, we are "moraless and hedonisitic." Of course. War, corruption, destroying the environment, not helping the meek, using cowboy rhetoric to solve world problems, and bathing in money from corporate sponsors. Oops, that's not us, that's you.
