I am looking for a string/brass quartet for afternoon of August 4, 2007 to play for approximately 40 minutes (before ceremony, during ceremony) and maybe for a coctail hour.
Please provide contact information and pay rates (if available). Thanks!

If you are on any sort of budget, you might want to consider calling around to the Universities in the area, up to say an hour away. Lots of times, there are students at Conservatories/Schools of Music that get together and kind of form little groups like that to gig. If there aren't any actual groups, you can find out from the receptionist if s/he has any contact information for some of the particularly good players, or if she could give you contact information for the instructor (that way, the violin, cello, etc instructors can find out from their students if any would be interested). You can audition them to see how you feel about them; often music students do a great job, like to share their craft, need money and the gigging experience is great!

Good luck! :)
