Ugly Betty, not because Im ugly, lol but because I recently started working in Manhattan and am around a different kind of crowd then I'm used to. I can relate to here trying to fit in. It's a different world coming from the hood to working in corporate america. Sometimes I feel as if I am hiding who I am because I feel if they knew who I was, ghetto, then they would look at me differently. I change the way I speak because ebonics really doesn't scream educated or proffesional. At times, I feel like I can't take it anymore, being this other person from 9 - 5...it's like Im living a double life. If they only knew that the cool collective person they see before them everyday is really a ghetto chick who lives pay check to pay check just to survive and doesn't have anything under control.
