I know you are not growing them at the moment, but if you do in the spring/summer the female flowers have a small round globule behind the yellow flower,the males have just a small stem. The males should be removed otherwise the cucumbers are bitter. You should also grow them in a greenhouse that is shaded.

I am sorry I forgotten but I realize this is a sensible question and many years ago I grew cucumber plants and was assisted by a neighbour who explained that male flowers needed to be removed

if you are talking about the veg, then l have no idea and l did not know there was a male or female cucumber

You do realize that you posted this in the reptile section don't you? Are you referring to sea cucumbers?
