Like a virgin or the Immaculate Collection. She was so cool in the 80's.
She's become a little too scary for me lately.

Hi Shauny,
Let me start by saying that I really like Madonna's work, whether it was the "Everybody" debut single to today's electro pop. But My favorite album has always been
THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION:
It is an album that combines a very youthful and upbeat atmosphere (Into the Groove, Like a Virgin, Material Girl...) with a strong religious and emotional theme (Like a Prayer, Cherish, Live to Tell);
Besides, it really is an International album: "La Isla Bonita" was a true breakthrough and an innovation for mainstream US pop singers to include Spanish song titles in their albums. "Holidays" and "Papa Don't Preach" have also topped the Euro charts for months...
And finally it is one of the only albums that made me think a lot about religion (I am Roman catholic myself) although paradoxically it was thought to be outrageous at the time by the church...

Ray of Light. It was much more introspective and the lyrics were actually good. All of the songs on that album were different for that time, and I don't think she'll ever be able to do another album as good as that one.
