Are you KIDDING ME?

Let's make one thing clear: WINDOWS VISTA SUCKS FOR GAMES. It has been made more than clear that Vista has worse performance for games than XP. Because of the issues associated with new released software, most gamers are not buying Vista until fixes come out for games.

I'm tellling you, just keep XP for now. If you got rid of your other computer, I'm sorry but as they say, caveat emptor.

What games? I Haven't had any issues with games that ran on XP. If you're trying to play games that ran under 98 or 2000, then yeah, you're going to have issues. I don't hang onto stuff for more than a few years (two or three) so I'm always ahead of the game and have fewer issues than those of you who like to hang onto... old... stuff.

Did you upgrade XP to Vista or did you clean install Vista (format the drive and then install). There have been MAJOR issues when just doing an in-place upgrade to Vista... if you did, bad decision on your part. It's always best to format the drive and clean install an operating system, especially one as radically different as Vista. It just depends on how you installed Vista and what games you are trying to play. Like I said, zero issues with XP games.

Other people here, you have no say unless you have actually used and installed Vista, I've had it for a week, in that week it has performed flawlessly on both my computers, without issues, without crashing, without bugging me about compatibility. So, you all are doing something wrong. I don't know what, but whatever it is, you're doing it wrong.

Yes, a week, I got the OEM versions early from Newegg.

Thats the reason I never upgraded to Window XP or Windows 2003 Server (uses XP Kernel). None of my games work!

I'm willing to bet that Vista is a double whammy XP version.

It'll be the year 2038 one day and I'll still be using Win2000 playing all my games without problems.

Why in heavens name would you load up Vista already? Number one rule of thumb when dealing with Microsoft operating systems. Never ever, ever install a Microsoft operating system until at least the first service pack has been released! If you really want to be smart, wait until the second one has been released. Otherwise, you are just asking for problems.

Alex, YOU BIG DUMMY. Microsoft has a Vista upgrade advisor that scans your system and tells you you will have compatibility issues. All the reviews I've read say that your drivers and your software may not work with Vista. Have you been in jail or something, don't read the papers or what?

Don't use Vista.
I know it is very beautiful, but it does really suck.

Linux Ubuntu + Beryl is even more beautiful, you can even watch the demo at Google Videos.
