An iPod is a device used to play digital music. There are 3 types, each with different capacity and functionality...the shuffle, the Nano, and he Video.
You first need to have some songs on your computer. You can either rip a CD or you can purchase the music. To be able to use the iPod, you must install iTunes, which is software that is able to manage your music. iTunes will allow you to rip CDs and also to purchase music online that you download onto your computer. This insures that the music is in the right format to play on your iPod.
There are 3 types of iPods. The shuffle is the smallest and simplist. It holds the least amount of songs (check apple.com for pricing and specs). It will just play the songs back randomly, and you are unable to see the songs you have loaded. The shuffle uses flash memory. This is good if you are active, as it is not hurt by getting jostled.
The nano is the mid-one. It comes in a couple different memory sizes (check apple.com). It allows you to have playlists. It has a small screen where you are able to see the music that you have on it, and your playlists. The nano uses flash memory.
The Video iPod is the top of the line one with the highest storage capacity and most features. Not only can it hold music, but you can also hold photos, videos, and even games! It has a fairly large screen for watching videos and movies. The iPod video uses a hard drive, much like your computer. This makes it more vulnerable to failures and damage if it is jostled around a lot or dropped. However, it is well made, so it isn't a huge concern.
To load music, you simply have to install the software that comes with the iPod, update it, and then you just plug it in to a USB port on your computer. It is very simple.
The actual using of the iPod varies on which one you choose. You can look on the "help" section of apple. com for more information. Or if you buy one, it comes with instructions.

An ipod is an Mp3 player. In this music player you can store songs. You can also put pictures on it and see movies on it too. You can get it in many different colors. You just have to put the songs in it and then just press play.
