Eye of newt, wing of bat
long black dress, large pointy hat,
huge warty nose, long fingernails too,
I am a stereotype, it's what i must do.
Fly on my broom & cackle away,
from dusk, all night, till the break of day,
back to my shack to make bad spells,
conjure up evil, straight from hell,
pick my herbs and sprinkle a few,
it's what we're like, it's what we must do.
To many this is what they do believe,
we're steroeptype Witches on All Hallowes Eve!

definitly the satan thing is irrepresibly idiotic,
yes it is an old religion which predates christianity
because of the fear of the shadow realm of life
this samhain rite is highly misunderstood
infact it probably cannot be reconciled with christianity
it is the time when the viel between the worlds is thinnest and through which one can commune with the spirits of the departed
it is also the pagan new year
this tear in the time space is like a doorway into the new years' vibrational spiral.
it is when the sun-king descends into the underworld
which relates to the spiritual descent of humans(witches)into there power source offering renewal and judgement of the year pasts activity.
it is a time of great power and mystery
it is a time when pagans witches what have you cummune with the mystery but do not entrapit in ideology.
this takes courage and wisdom.the sahmain ritual is like an adorned doorway into the mysteries of life
it conducts but does not explain
most people freak without projection of an explaination
it is difficult to leave the mystery as it is and not say it comes from this its purpose is thus or anything.
the "mystery" is not knowable or un-knowable nor is it both nor is it neither. how could a christain deal with this but to say devil worship?
at least at first?

peace be

The Satan thing is probably the worst.

But ya know... the green skin and warts. Now that really hurts. And the drab black fashions. Geezzzz, we do have a sense of fashion, and black comes in many nicer designs than that old lady dress they stick on us. And the ratty hair. Sorry, I spend a few hours every month at the hair dressers making sure my hair is just perfect. We do take very good care of our personal hygiene.

That the Halloween Wiccans celebrate bears any relation at all to the Celtic festival Samhain.

I think it's just the overall idea that it is somehow 'evil'. Wicca is an ancient set of beliefs (as far as I know anyway *g*) not some horrible thing to be portrayed as inherently out to cause harm to non-believers. If you start from the 'evil' basis, then all manner of idiotic stereotypes follow.

It does not hassle me particularly, as they are basically video clips, generally without real foundation. i myself comparable to Hocus Pocus. it ought to be seen slender-minded and eccentric for the sake of entertainment, yet I not often think of them able to influencing the worldwide to lead them to have self belief that Wiches and Wiccans are toddler boiling, spring lamb slaughtering devil worshippers! The Christians do a much greater effectual activity themselves! a minimum of, they warfare! BB )O(

I cannot tell you how many times I have been asked if I sacrifice things. Wiccans do not harm others. We do not worship the devil. We do not have warts on our noses. We are normal, everyday people who are in your offices, your neighborhoods and your communities.

that wiccans are nekked save for their huge, black pointed hat ... gathered around a big bubbling cauldron, stirring up bats wings, egret eyeballs and toad tongues, and with the sweep of one crinkled, pointed finger start to cast a black spell over their enemies, turning them into one of those spooky, screechy guys who auditioned for American Idol.......
