I have a problem with my 93 topaz. The windows will nto roll up or down. It started with the back windows first, but you could roll them back up from that particular switch, but not from the drivers master. Then all of a sudden all the windows went out. I have replaced the switch in the drivers door. I have replaced the fuse. I can't find a short anywhere in the line to the switch. Any other suggestions, other than take it to a mechanic?

yes the motors run, last time we got the windows to roll up we bypassed the switch.

check for broken wires where they go through from the drivers door into the body of the car, if you can get your hands on a circuit tester it would help, the constant opening and closing of the drivers door sometimes causes the wires to break

make sure all window move up and down freely. if it does not, the circuit breaker (like a fuse) will cause no power to the window motors. remove all window and inspect. the common things on this vehicle are the window guides and regulators are worn out which cause binding.

replacing the switch was the first step...but have you checked for oxidation on the contacts of the wiring harness and clean that off....they're probably not making contact.
