PigPen is the name of the dirty kid in the Peanuts Gang. It's a dustcloud that rises and falls. Why he is constantly dirty is a mystery, although he had tried to keep himself clean a couple of times, without success. As to what the dust contains? That's never explained either, although it was suggested by Charlie Brown that the dust could have come from ancient times.

Pigpen was the only kid who could raise a cloud of dust in a snowstorm. It was just dirt coming off of him. Remember what Charlie Brown said on the Christmas special? When one of the girls complained that he was taking the curl out of her naturally curly hair, Charlie Brown suggested that it might be the dirt from ancient civilizations, like that of Nebucanezzar. As Pigpen said, kind of makes you want to treat him with a little more respect, doesn't it?

Before grunge was cool, Pigpen made his debut in the Peanuts comic strip on July 13, 1954 and since then has been the butt of "dirt" gags. He walks around in a cloud of dust, sprinkling dirt on all he comes in contact with. Pigpen is happily messy. He doesn't try to explain it, hide it, fight it. For him, it's just a fact of life. His slovenly ways paid off in 1993 with a series of television commercials for Regina vacuum cleaners which combined animation with live-action.

That kid was PIG PEN.
The stuff around him was just DIRT. He was called a DIRT MAGNET. Just the kind of kid that could get dirty going from a bath and clean clothes, to the front door.

Lol super cute name for a baybi but not really good for school life. Have it as a well used nick name. These are cute too :-) Bunny Apple Hunni Fluffles Spike cupcake pumpkin strawberri darlin angel bambi buttercup kisses cinammon duckie fruit loops candy tinkerbelle muffin...... sorry got carried away! etc. Like only as a nickname though. Pigpen is his name and I don't know what the stuff was coming off of him, I assumed that it was just dust from the dirt. I am sure some flies and nats would be drawn to that though.
