I used to have this CD that outlined each barre exercise in order but have lost it, and now I am lost with out it. Do any of you know what classical songs are used across the board for plies, tendus, degages, rond de jambes, frappes, etc at the barre? (The Song Name and Composer, Would Be Most Helpful)

It really is just easier to buy a music for ballet class CD, which is already edited to fit the exercise and will give you a list of what exercise goes with which song.

Try www.balletclassmusic.com or behindbarres.com

I remember the scene in Fast Times at Ridgemont High when Cassie Yates was getting out of the swimming pool while "Moving in Stereo" by the Cars played. Classic! Honorable mentions: This is Spinal Tap. A great, funny movie w/awesome music throughout and also The Rocky Horror Picture show and of course, The Blues Brothers =} * Mr. Fitzwell...."I love the smell of napalm in the morning" Good choice & movie.

Well, different music is used depending on how fast or slow the movement is. Plies can be sharp, of soft, depending on the music. See

My teacher would record her voice saying the steps over the music. My studio opened 49 years ago and we probably still use the same tapes.
