so what if it's popular, what are you back in high school, trying to be the anti socialite? we need a return to more normal names not some bullchit wannabe cool parents making nonsense up just to be original. there are so many wacked out names now, naming your child something normal is original!

Alexandra is not too popular for a middle name. It is a wonderful idea to go with something more unique or untraditional as a first name and then have a middle name that has some roots.

I don't think it's TOO popular. I like Alexandra but I hate Alexandria. I see no reason to put an "i" in there. It makes an otherwise nice name tacky and one syllable too long.

I don't think it's too popular, I don't know any young children named Alexandra actually! Plus I like that there are a lot of nickname options if you like - Alex, Allie/Ally, Lexi/Lex, etc.

I think Alexandra is really pretty. You can even call her Alex if you are into that. I know someone whose name is Alexandria and they call her Alex.

She can have myriad nicknames as well:
Lexi, Alex, Alix, Aleka, Alexia, Alexis, Lexi, Lexie, Sasha, Xandra...

In all of my mommy groups and playgroups, I have never seen an Alexandra.
