I want one with a DVD burner, for solid performance give me some specs of what you think is best as far as memory, hard drive space, speed etc.

HP or Dell . Personally I prefer the new Dual Core HP Media Center units.
Hard to match as complete home PC multimedia solutions.

I'd recommend Alienware PC's. They use high quality, name brand components.
As far as the specs that you want, it depends on what your primary purpose is for the computer. Personally, I condsider these the minimums:
1 Gig of SDRAM
500 Gig Harddrive
Intel Core 2 CPU
Nvidia GeForce 6800
